Jeannine Holz, DDS, says she feels truly lucky to say, "I love what I do!" Dr. Holz says being a dentist is about more than just fixing teeth. It's about developing a trusting bond with patients -- learning from each other while improving oral health.
She also says she's never bored being a dentist: "I view this profession as being able to experience something new every day, whether it's using new technology, enhancing my technique or meeting someone I haven't met before."
As for Dr. Holz's background, shes a general dentist originally from East Meadow who "finally ventured outside of what I consider to be my 'Long Island Bubble'." Before embarking on the dental school journey, Dr. Holz earned a bachelor's degree from Adelphi University, where she played NCAA lacrosse. She then went on to earn a dental degree from the Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine.
After dental school, Dr. Holz completed a one-year General Practice Residency affiliated with Phelps Memorial Hospital, Westchester Medical Center, and Open Door Family Health Center. The program gave her the opportunity to gain dental experiences in both hospital and public health settings. "My desire to learn more about implant dentistry led me to an additional two-year Chief Residency position at Montefiore Hospital in Bronx, New York, where I restored full-mouth dental implant cases and completed complex esthetic treatments." Just before joining us at Putnam Dental, Dr. Holz worked in a private practice in Connecticut.
Dr. Holz made the move, and now she lives in Westchester with her husband; the pair tied the knot this past may. When she's not working, Dr. Holz loves taking random road trips, being outdoors, and even battling the Long Island traffic to see family.
We are so excited for you all to come in and get to know Dr. Holz!
